Festivals are spaces of collective experimentation. New dimensions are created by ephemeral projects that incubate moods and forms of sensibility that last beyond the time of the event. During the workshop, ‘The Museum as a Festival’, participants will explore the interlace of musical, artistic, and environmental aspects to contemplate the present and the future in an innovative way. The purpose is to create a space where an event, limited in time, could have the potential to transform temporary works of art in durable and meaningful representations. This would change the perspective of the museum experience from a static interaction to a more dynamic exchange.

The organisation of this event will provide the occasion for participants to find a new narrative around the museum’s collection. From Semper’s concept of ‘The Ideal Museum’, where objects are shown in multitude through their materiality, we will actively guide participants to curate their personal program, following Terraforma’s philosophy in which acts follow one after the other without ever happening simultaneously

Terraforma Festival

Terraforma is an international music festival dedicated to artistic experimentation and sustainability. The three-day event, founded in 2014, takes place in the garden of Villa Arconati, near Milan. The artists range from early innovators and genre precursors to young and promising talents of the experimental music scene, defined for an ever-evolving approach to active and creative research. Choosing sustainability as the festival’s modus operandi, through the maintenance of Villa Arconati’s park, the aim is to discover new sustainable resources and to reduce the environmental impact.
